RAPPING WITH SHAKESPEARE is a modern day hip-hop version of Shakespeare’s tales that explores the lives of five South Central Los Angeles teenagers attending Crenshaw High School. The students’ personal stories subtly parallel Shakespeare’s archetypal characters:
” Rapping with Shakespeare” is a compelling, engaging and triumphant film. It transfers Shakespeare’s iambic pentameter into the interesting lives of five students. The film gives hope to teenagers who live and struggle in communities plagued with violence, drugs and poverty. After the storm there is a rainbow in “Rapping with Shakespeare”.
